As part of the sustainable renovation of a heritage-protected district, ESAM faced a dual challenge: on the one hand, the energy supply had to be modernized without compromising the historical substance. On the other hand, all legal requirements for monitoring, consumption transparency, and digitalization had to be met – a true balancing act between tradition and future.
Heritage-protected, complex, future-oriented – how can a historic district be managed efficiently, legally compliant, and digitally?
Modernizing old technology is impossible, unless you replace it? Wrong. Especially with heritage-protected buildings, a complete replacement is quite expensive or very complicated.
